Well everyone, I received a kind request to take this article down. MarathonFoto didn’t threaten me but I’m not looking for ANY trouble in my life so I’ve chosen to voluntarily take it down. This is the message I received from them:
I am writing on behalf of MarathonFoto, a division of Event Photography Group. We kindly ask that you take down your post on removing watermarks from our images. This is copyrighted material and the watermarks are there for a reason. I appreciate your understanding of this matter.
Thanks everyone for understanding,
John

Hi, I was able to remove it on the preview, but not on the enlarged picture. Is there a way to do that? thanks!!
Sorry Johnny, they are copyrighted pictures that we have to purchase to get the full versions. There's no way around that. I just wrote this to help people look at the previews without the moving text. –John
Thanks a lot!
I was able to the remove the running watermarks but could not remove the word 'Proof'. Help.
You cannot remove the proof, it is part of the image itself. My tutorial just helps you be able to look at the previews without the obnoxious scrolling words on top of the image.
Thanks! Worked like a charm.
Great to hear! If they change the "name" of the animated gif that overlays the pictures you'll have to go through the steps again, but that's no big deal. I think I've had to re-do it once since I wrote up this tutorial. Thanks for sharing. –John
mind helping to take a look? i tried using the method but i couldn't find the overlay for the watermark.. seems like they have patched it up or something..

Thanks for your comment. The website you are on is marathon-photos.com, which is a different website than I'm writing about, marathonfoto.com. Your website actually has the watermark as part of the picture so you cannot employ the tactic I describe in this post to remove it. Sorry.
are these the same instructions for mac?
Thanks for your question. I created these instructions on a mac actually 🙂 Install AdBlock in Chrome on your mac, which is pretty simple, and then you can follow the remaining instructions just the same.
