Replace Track Lighting Bulbs With LED Bulbs-Review of Feit Electric PAR30 LED Track & Recessed Light Bulb

My office has track lighting in multiple areas, totaling 30 reflective flood light bulbs.  We have been going through a lot of 75 Watt reflective halogen flood25 bulbs and were looking for a greener and longer-lasting energy-efficient replacement.  I found the FEIT 75 Watt replacement PAR30 that only uses 15 Watts and wanted to give them a try.  I purchased one on amazon.com and then found them for a lot cheaper on ebay.com.  I believe they have come out with a newer model of this bulb but this version has a 3 year warranty (which I verified with FEIT that they’d honor even though I purchased off ebay, since they are new) so that is what I went with.

Here are a comparison of the three bulb types we have.  The left is the standard 75 Watt halogen bulb we are trying to replace.  The middle is the new 15 Watt FEIT PAR30 LED bulb.  The right one is a 15 watt Superior lamp.com compact florescent bulb.  As you can see, the LED is a lot brighter, harsher I might say than either.  The florescent seems weak to me, and then there’s the yellow halogen bulb.  We went ahead and ordered 30 of the FEIT to save energy over the long-term.
