How to Connect an Analog Conference Phone to a Merlin Legend Phone System
Hardware:
- Avaya Merlin BIS-10 Phone Handset
- Merlin Legend Phone System
- Polycom VoiceStation 500 (ebay)
At my office we have an aging but working Merlin Legend phone system. The phone consoles look like the one in the picture below. They have a Speaker-Phone button on them but they do not make a good conference phone.

Here I have plugged in a cat-5 cable to the analog jacks:

All you need to do is dial 9 to get an outside line on the VoiceStation and you are good to go!

Great post. We have a Merlin Magix system and are trying to hook up a speakerphone with one of those D8AC blue connectors. We can’t seem to make it work. Do you have any posts or ideas on this?
Thanks,

Scott, thanks for the question. I’m not familiar with that system but if it doesn’t have a card in it that has analog line ports then you’ll need to get an analog card for it.
